The Bad

In 1976 The Nutrition Institute of Maryland instituted the first protein fasting program. As the formula advanced it soon became known as Medifast. The primary research was done at Case Western Reserve and the Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

It has been clinically proven at Johns Hopkins and is one of the few diets that are medically proven to work.

During the past several years it has became a public company. Forbes placed the company at number 28 in their 200 best small companies list.
